● Governance & Compliance: Partners identified areas for strengthening governance, including statutory compliance and documentation.
● Proposal Development: Partners gained the ability to understand community issues and develop proposals based on community needs.
● Leadership Clarity: Leaders gained clarity on their organisational and self-identity and the impact of merging these identities.
● Facilitation Skills: The core group's support helped the partners improve their own facilitation skills.
HIDF undertakes its engagement with socio-economically poor, such as manual scavengers, through building the capacities of local organisations to strengthen their effectiveness in work. As part of its engagement, HIDF built capacities on
1. Capacity Building/Orientation trainings on PEMSR ACT & Entitlements
2. Creating Awareness on Prohibition of Employment as manual scavenger and their rehabilitation act 2013 (PEMSR ACT -2013)
3. Accessing Rehabilitation Entitlements and facilitating alternative livelihoods for scavengers.
Following the discussion on the future aspirations of the Roopantaras, two rounds of dialogue were held among all Roopantaras and HIDF. These conversations culminated in the decision to establish a community of practice for people-centred dialogue.
