Governing Board

HID Forum functions through a collaborative and inclusive culture, with professionals from diverse backgrounds. This enables us to be responsive, creative and offer the type of support needed in the sector.

In the same vein, our Board and General Body are also formed of members from varied backgrounds whose inputs inform HID Forum’s programmes and management with eclectic perspectives.

Our Board, at present, comprises the following 7 members:

Mr. Gagan Sethi

Chair person

Gagan is a development educator reputed for his professional expertise in human and institution development and gender. He co-founded Janvikas and incubated 12 other reputed civil society organizations. He is on the governing boards of an impressive number of civil society organizations, facilitating their strategic board governance. Known for furthering collaborative models and his fund-raising competencies, Gagan has also extended his HID expertise to national and international funding agencies in strengthening their organizational systems and contributing to their strategic perspectives.

Ms. Sanmita Kamat

Co-Chair Person

Sanmita comes from a strong corporate background having held various positions in leading corporates like Walmart International, Tata Medical Center, Globus and Westside. She has worked with organisations like CRY as Associate General Manager and ICCO as Head of CSR and Sustainability. Sanmita has a Masters degree in Retailing and a Masters degree in Management Studies.

Dr. Anuradha Prasad

Member Secretary

Anuradha is the founder Director of HID Forum. She is a `Human Process’ professional; a Professional Coach and a student of Jungian psychology. Anuradha has held positions of Dean (Social Development) and President of India Society for Applied Behavioural Science (ISABS) and currently Trustee of Group Relations India (GRI) and the President of Kutch Mahila Vikas Sanghathan. She has been involved with the development sector for 3 decades in various capacities- as director, programme manager, trainer, researcher, facilitator, evaluator, mentor & consultant. She has completed a certificate course on Depth Psychology at the Jung Center, India. She is a professional life and executive coach.

Prof A. Uday Bhaskar

Co-Member Secretary

Uday holds a Ph.D fromIIT-Delhi and Masters degree in PM&IR. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad. He has been associated with a large number of MDPs for public and private sector clients like GMR Group, EIL, Indian Oil Corp, NTPC, FAB India, Hero Honda, Hindustan Zinc Limited, Indian Economic Service, Indian Statistical Service, Nokia Siemens Networks, Jindal Steel and Power Limited, Idea Cellular Limited, Vodafone Services, SAIL, Tata Power Limited, BEL, etc. He has authored many articles in leading journals and conferences.

A retired professor, Rita taught social work at the School of Social Work, Roshini Nilaya, Mangalore,Karnataka. She has held board positions in the Centre for Development Studies and Education, KROSS and other institutions.

Shweta is a HR professional with 19 years of experience in HR Consulting and HR Management. She has worked across different countries, industries and organizations with multiple business challenges and complexities. She is passionate about the infinite potential of human transformation and her defining personal values are authenticity and a never-ending pursuit of excellence. She is a mother to 2 children and spends her spare time running, trekking, working for education of underprivileged children and singing.

Dr. Lakshmi Lingam

Lakshmi has been a Professor at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences for the past 28 years. She is a teacher, researcher and activist on gender and human rights. She is on the Curriculum Advisory Boards of several Women Studies Departments in Indian Universities as well as Technical and Ethical Advisory Board member of several NGOs. In addition to her outstanding teaching and research activities, she has contributed to gender and equity mainstreaming activities of Government departments in a number of states in India. She was the General Secretary of the Indian Association for Women Studies. She was a member of the National Resource Group of the Government of India, Mahila Samakhya program for women’s empowerment under the Ministry of HRD.

Our Team

Core to our functioning are our Programme Executives or Anchors who are experienced in  a diverse range of fields – including advocacy, programme administration, change facilitation, designing, and training – and in sectors  ranging from minority communities, Dalits, unorganised sector and civil society.  Coming from different backgrounds, their past knowledge and experiences in confluence with present roles, offer rich interpretations of and solutions to HID needs. In addition, our programme executives have the capacity to deliver programmes in a number of Indian languages.

I am an ardent believer in people coming together and reclaiming what is rightfully theirs. Working with people’s movements and trade unions for over ten years has made me a strong advocate of organizational sustainability. My energy comes from conversations with people and I identify myself as an introvert. At HIDF, I am currently enjoying a balance between working with people and developing a knowledge base.

I identify myself as a Dalit and rural activist. Over the last 13 years in the sector I have experienced being in various roles. I have worked grassroots organisations engaged with Dalit communities. I have been associated with HIDF in a full time role since January 2017. I facilitate all field-based programmes. I believe in equality and my passion is to work with Dalits, Devadasis, Adivasis and other minorities. I am interested in facilitating trainings and research. I watch movies, theatre, listen to music and enjoy travelling.
