Rehnuma: towards a more inclusive society

Through Rehnuma HID Forum worked with marginal communities for the 5 years. “Rehnuma” was an intervention started in 2013 by National Foundation for  India and Centre for Social Justice, to address exclusion and discrimination against vulnerable groups in India, particularly minorities. In January 2016, the scope of the Rehnuma intervention was expanded beyond the 15-point Programme and minorities to a more comprehensive framework of addressing vulnerability, fighting discrimination, and moving towards a more inclusive, just and equitable society. As part of this, additional issues, including communal violence, land rights, labor rights, and ensuring gender equity and justice through reform of personal laws were to be addressed. HID Forum was part of a coalition. HID Forum began with implementing Rehnuma in Kalaburagi district and Rangareddy districts.

Between 2017 to 2020, HID Forum expanded Rehnuma work in 3 districts of Karnataka, Davanagere, Bidar and Gulbarga. HID Forum has focused on inclusion, discrimination, labour rights, women’s rights and focused on all vulnerable communities.
